Working with Dianna, a Quick Q&A
Q: What is Reiki?
A: Reiki is a gentle, energetic healing technique. The Japanese word Reiki translates as life-force energy. This energy is everywhere in every cell and atom in you and around you. Our practice acknowledges this energy and channels it through you to ease every function in your body and every process in your mind.
Q: What does Reiki feel like?
A: The experience of Reiki is calm and restful. I like to guide my students in and out of meditation to help them settle in. Then, I hover my hands over the client and work down their body systematically. Sometimes clients feel warm, or cool, or tingly. Sometimes people just drift off in the calmness of the meditation and forget about me entirely.
Q: What happens in a Reiki session?
A: In my sessions, I like to chat with the client and set a really strong intention for our work that day. The we get you set up on the massage bed for Reiki and, once you’re comfortable, I guide you into a calming meditation. with soothing tonal music in the background. I use your own intention to create a bespoke, meditative, space. After a few minutes, I finish speaking and quietly make my way to the head of the bed. I gently work from your head down to your feet, systematically. When I’m finished, I gently guide you out of meditation and we sit down for our Reading.
Q: How does Reiki in a group work?
A: Group Reiki feels a lot like group meditation. During this meditation, I move around the room and hover my hands above each person offering Reiki. I quietly write down one or two notes or messages that come to me while I am with each person. At the end, I guide us out of meditation and ask everyone to write down a few reflections. I then open the floor for sharing or discussion about what came up and how they feel about the notes we both wrote.
Q: What is a Reiki Master?
A: A Reiki Master is someone, like me, who has studied Reiki to its highest level. I'm able to offer Reiki to the general public and also train other Reiki practitioners. My knowledge was given to me by my Master from a line that can be traced back through the Usui lineage. Usui is the name of a person who discovered and spread the understanding of Reiki in the early 1900s. He had an enlightened experience on the sacred Mt. Kurama left this experience inspired to teach and train others.
Q: What is a Reading?
A: Readings are a beautiful and well-rounded way to call in guidance, support, and inspiration. Readings are not inherently a part of Reiki, but many Reiki practitioners are intuitive and enjoy sharing what they notice during a Reiki session. I focus on chakra-based elements, which provide a beautiful language for discussing the body and mind connection. I use my skills as a Psychic Medium to offer messages of healing and growth.
Q: What is a Psychic Medium?
A: A Psychic Medium offers their intuitive skills, professionally. Everyone can recognize and grow their sense of intuition, but some people, like me, choose to share this universal gift of intuition with others. I often use the Chakra system to share impressions of the body and mind connection that I feel from my client. I also share messages that are psychic (signs, symbols, people, places, and things related to you in this lifetime) and mediumistic (signs, symbols, people, places, and things related to someone who has passed away). Overall, we are open to holding space for messages of healing and growth.
Q: What kind of messages might come up?
A: Messages feel like a reminder of something you know but forgot. They won't be shocking or scary because our goal is to bring more ease and balance. Perhaps, I'll share that your Sacral Chakra feels really expansive and creative...only to find out that you're an artist who hasn't picked up their paint brush in a long time. Or maybe I'll share the name of an important person, a person who loves you. Their love might be just the thing you need to take that big next life step you've been putting off.
It’s important to remember that every Reiki practicioner and every Psychic Medium works a little differently. It’s a great a idea to hop on a call and get to your practioner before your first session. You can do that with me here. I’d love to get to know eachother and hop into a session soon!
